Hello There!
Life happens while you made other plans… And the last few months, all my plans got messed up pretty bad. Let me share an insight and a simple tool I made, because this might help you too; The ”Sunday’s Prep” checklist (see printout underneath the blog).
When things go haywire, I’m a big believer in “sitting with the dragon” as Bruce Lee called it. You don’t hide from the nasty stuff, but face it, as ugly and hard as this may be. But this time, I started to “fly with the dragon”.
What I mean by this is, is you know you need to taste the bitter to turn it into better. But not just in your head and heart, but also in doing. To go from thinking to feeling to action. And action was the step for me where I gave up trying to be in full control.
It’s all very paradoxal; Moving forward by standing still, moving faster by slowing down… You’re more in control by letting go (a scene in the Dr Strange movie comes to mind now…).
You can set your intentions, but then life comes in…
So what do you have control over? Not the outcome, but the preparation.
We’re all doing the best we can with good intentions. We all fail forward… But I found that’s easier with a well stuffed fridge and some focus points written on separate modest piece paper sitting on my desk.
It surely beats trying to keep track of everything in one huge stuffed planner.
So that’s why this simple ”Sunday’s Prep” checklist was created. A tool to help keeping both grounded and on top of things. To set a simple baseline when all the chaos runs free. I hope you’ll find it useful!
Happy Sunday everyone.
Judith
